Dear Friends:

Summer of 2008 was great! Boy did I have fun! I went to my first camp: B’nea B’rith on the Oregon Coast that is supported by the JCC. It’s a camp that my aunt Janie went to when she was young. My cousin Emily attended too. We returned to our farm house next to the Eola Hills Vineyard for two weeks. My cousins and I must have eaten at least a thousand cherries, baked two cherry pies, and slept like a rock. I also went with my aunt Janie to work in the winery. I saw old friends, helped make wine, and had fun doing it. We went to  San Diego and met up with more family, and boogey boarded for many, many hours. I spent the rest of summer in Pebble Beach and attended the Douglas Ranch Camp for two weeks in the heart of Carmel Valley.  The activities were fun and the food was really great.

Then it was back to school! I’m now in the 7th grade which means more responsibility, mostly new teachers and the new and old faces of friends. So far the homework is being poured out faster than it can be done, but I am squished between many activities: guitar, football and school. I just started playing the guitar and let me say ... it’s incredibly fun! Football, now that’s fun too, but it’s every single day after school from 3:00-5:00pm. This year I am playing defensive end for the first time ever and I play offensive guard.

It’s the middle of October as I write this and everyone is already wearing winter coats in Pennsylvania. Typical weather in Pittsburg! But I look forward to going to Oregon for harvest, and snowboarding throughout the winter season. So far, school is just fine... not any serious trouble, a couple of new friends and I’m getting almost all “A’s”!

Thanks for buying Brooks Wines and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

Pascal Brooks
