Candy like fruit in the nose like a cherry ludens or Jolly Rancher. Bright, sexy fruit, cherry pie, cherry compote, cherry jam. Bright high notes, subtle spiciness, cinnamon, clove, all spice. It really draws you in with the hedonistic aromas.
As I expected in the mouth, it is full of bright cherry fruit and spices. Brighter than riper, the acid level is crisp and enticing and it finishes with red fruit, spice and light tannins. This is a medium bodied, lively, fruity Pinot Noir and I love the playfulness of the fruit and acid. It is truly a pleasure to drink.
I could easily see this with a starter of foie gras mousse and poached cherries on brioche. Would be amazing as well with Peking Duck, pork medallions with huckleberry sauce or even as a finisher with cherry pie and vanilla ice cream.
