Kumquat, Charlyn melon, yellow pear and Fuji apple. High notes of julienned basil, parsley and English thyme in the nose. Very similar in the mouth with orchard fruit, melon and kumquat, and more citrus flavors like nectarine and orange. The high notes of fresh cut herbs brings a wonderful complexity to the wine. I love the acidity, which is just preceded by lovely compact bright fruit flavors that finish with a touch of dry tannin for a deceivingly full bodied Riesling.
The full weight of this wine would be a suitable match for a main course of roast pork, grilled white fish, or even fresh, fat Monterey sardines on the grill with an olive tapenade.
