Almost meaty nose, grilled lemon, apple pie, kumquat, tangerine, and grapefruit. Very floral and aromatic, gardenias, passionfruit, and lemon flower.
Amazing mouthfeel and incredible balance between perfectly ripe fruits; citrus, lemon, tangerine, apple, pear, etc., and perfect bright acidity that lifts the fruit and finishes long and complex. The wine seems sweet, given the floral white flower notes and rich mouthfeel, but it is, in fact, dry and fat, and brightens with intensity on the finish. Delicious!
Save this for the main course, perhaps grilled pork and grilled peaches and lemons. This could also work well with a roast whole chicken finished with pancetta under the skin and buttery potatoes. Or whole salt crusted fish in beurre blanc sauce.
