I would like to personally invite you to join me to what I think will be the best Brooks University yet—Sunday, February 25th, 2018 from 1-4.

Elaine Chukan Brown is a dear friend and one of the hardest working writers in the wine industry. She writes for some of the top publications in the wine world including World of Fine Wine and Jancis Robinson. But beyond that, I have never met someone who goes more in-depth in research before she presents wines. She is so thorough. She is also quite the artist—know the Pinot Noir, Riesling and Biodynamic drawings in the private dining room at the winery?—she did those. Drawing what she tasted was her first claim to fame in the industry. It is certainly going to be a treat! I know nothing about New Zealand wines so I look forward to comparing them to Brooks.

We changed the time of year due to harvest and the location because Linfield was anticipating having basketball playoffs! We are excited to be at the Eola campus of the Chemeketa Wine Studies program—it’s a beautiful space and view.

And of course, after tasting 10 wines, there will be mingling, noshing on Chef Abby’s wonderful food and time to meet Elaine. We are making posters of her drawing for the event (below) that you can have signed by her. All 10 wines from the tasting will be available for sale as well.

As we have in the past, there is a nominal charge to help defray the costs of using someone else’s space and for purchasing all of the New Zealand wines.
