2014 La Chenaie Pinot Noir

$48.00 / Bottle

This bottling is about great relationships, patience and good fortune. When we were approached with the opportunity to purchase fruit from the well known old vine vineyard, we couldn’t say yes fast enough. Temperance Hill single vineyard wines are some of my favorite in the Willamette Valley. He are honored to be able to make one of our own.

Candy like fruit in the nose like a cherry ludens or Jolly Rancher. Bright, sexy fruit, cherry pie, cherry compote, cherry jam. Bright high notes, subtle spiciness, cinnamon, clove, all spice. It really draws you in with the hedonistic aromas.

As I expected in the mouth, it is full of bright cherry fruit and spices. Brighter than riper, the acid level is crisp and enticing and it finishes with red fruit, spice and light tannins. This is a medium bodied, lively, fruity Pinot Noir and I love the playfulness of the fruit and acid. It is truly a pleasure to drink.

I could easily see this with a starter of foie gras mousse and poached cherries on brioche. Would be amazing as well with Peking Duck, pork medallions with huckleberry sauce or even as a finisher with cherry pie and vanilla ice cream.

Limpid red. Bright and energetic on the nose, displaying red berry, cherry and blood orange scents that show very good clarity and a hint of spiciness. Juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are given lift and spine by a core of tangy acidity and a note of smoky minerality. Closes very long and sappy, offering building sweetness and a late jolt of tangy berry skin. There’s very good freshness here, especially in the context of the vintage.
