2019 Janus Pinot Noir
This wine is sold out, but the 2021 Janus is available.
A lighter-bodied Pinot Noir with elegant notes of violets, red fruit, and baking spices.
In Roman mythology, Janus is the God for new beginnings, as well as endings, the future, the past and doorways. Janus is the God of balance. The ultimate expression of Pinot Noir! Janus is our flagship… the richest, most vibrant and intense blend that we produce.
Janus is the first label that Jimi produced when he founded Brooks in 1998. Jimi’s passion and interests of mythology and astrology often were shown through the creation of his first wines.
Only 800 cases produced!
Flavor Notes
Brooks has it all — Great story, great people, great wines.
A polished Pinot with fresh and vibrant red fruit notes, bright acidity and a lengthy, elegant finish.
Sommelier
Pair this wine with a prawn Etouffee with jasmine rice, celery, onion, garlic, carrot & in a shellfish broth. The cajun and creole spice would be a perfect complement to this glorious wine.
Chef
Hailing from a more traditional Willamette Valley vintage, the 2019 Janus is well balanced and food friendly. Cherry cola, baking spice and wild strawberry radiate from the glass. Quenching on the palate, this wine has excellent tension showing off pomegranate and cranberry with fine tannins and a long crisp finish.

Winemaking Notes
A wet, but warm spring with a few mild frosts during late April and fewer than average heat spikes.
Near-record precipitation amounts during late June and early July brought increased disease pressure to the region.
The vintage will be remembered for the early rains in September and rapid cool down into October which challenged harvesting decisions.
The cool vintage came largely from substantially lower maximum temperatures while minimum temperatures were near average to slightly
above average.
