Legacy Series – Jim Prosser (JK Carriere)
Aug 18 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Legacy Series - Jim Prosser (JK Carriere) @ Brooks Winery | Amity | Oregon | United States

In September of 2004, at the age of 38, Jimi Brooks unexpectedly passed away as Harvest was about to begin. A group of Jimi’s friends selflessly donated their skill, time, and passion to make Jimi’s 2004 wines in his signature style. For our 20th anniversary, we are celebrating those winemakers with a number of special events and monthly programming. Welcome to The Legacy Series.

On August 18th, join Jim Prosser from JK Carriere, as he pours his wines at Brooks.

Live Music Sunday – McDougall
Aug 26 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Live Music Sunday - McDougall @ Brooks Winery Tasting Room | Amity | Oregon | United States

McDougall

With his imagination often dwelling in the very real places of his past and present, as well as in the possible future, McDougall’s songs may very well seat you by a coffee-can fire in the middle of a dry California river-bed, pull you up onto a freight train in the lush spring-time of the Pacific northwest, raise your voice in hymns with the entire family on a Thanksgiving afternoon, or haste your good-bye to civilization as you know it, as you ramble on with all you possess on your back. Fact, fiction, and a little in between, McDougall carries on the relevant tradition of oral history and folklore, making it a part of everyday life and sharing it with those around him. Inspired by the word of God, his family, friends, fellow workers and fellow travelers met along the way, McDougall wishes to keep to the unwritten rule of using what was left by those before while leaving something of your own for those who will come after.

Brooks 101: See, Smell, Sip
Aug 31 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Brooks 101: See, Smell, Sip @ Brooks Winery | Amity | Oregon | United States

Do you ever feel intimidated by wine? Whether it’s ordering at a restaurant, going to a Tasting Room, or drinking with “wine knowledgeable” friends, for some reason we can all get a little worried.

At Brooks, we hate hearing things like that. Wine is supposed to be fun. Wine is supposed to relieve stress, not cause it.

We’re here to help with our new Wine 101 Class: See, Smell, Sip.

In this fun, engaging, and LOW STRESS environment, Lauren will guide you through wine tasting basics broken down into SEE, SMELL, & SIP.

With this bedrock of information, you will be given two red wines and two white wines as you explore four key wine concepts, ACID, FRUIT, SWEETNESS, & TANNIN, comparing these components with foods that you already know (for example, lemon and acid).

With your brain full of intimidation-crushing knowledge, you will revel in a veritable playground of smells and tastes as Lauren will lay the table with everything from rocks and soil to herbs, spices, and fruits. You can then smell, taste and compare, leaving the tasting with scent and flavor memories that will carry over to every wine you drink in the future.

LIMITED TO 12 PEOPLE.

Please call 503.435.1278 to reserve.
