2013 Rastaban Pinot Noir Magnum 1.5L

Crazy complexity. In the mouth, everything is confirmed. This is such a beautiful, fat, smoky, unctuous crazy good Pinot Noir. What else can I say?

Rastaban is the name of a star and that star is the eye of a constellation called Draco. This is one of the first and more reserve pinot noir labels Jimi Brooks produced. Jimi’s passion and interests of mythology and astrology often were shown through the creation of his first wines.

93 Points | Vinous - Vivid red. A heady, intensely perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red berries, Asian spices and pungent flowers and develops a mineral nuance with air. Sappy and concentrated but light on its feet, offering vibrant raspberry, blood orange and candied rose flavors sharpened by a peppery flourish. Picks up a succulent herbal nuance with air and finishes spicy, floral and impressively long, leaving a sappy red berry note behind. This suave Pinot, which was raised in 20 percent new French oak, showcases the best attributes of the vintage and clocks in at a mere 12 percent alcohol.
