90 Points | Wine & Spirits - From a vineyard planted in the late 1970s just south of the Eola Hills, this wine projects an old-vine reticence. It feels angular right from the scent, all lemon-lime and citrus pith, and follows with a tart apple flavor and firm, slatey acidity. It feels like it needs years in the cellar.

- P.J.C.
This Medium-dry Riesling is luscious with note of lemon meringue and beeswax with a rich and lengthy finish.
Jillian Barnhart
Sommelier
I would pair this wine with a Caprese salad, heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, flakey Oregon sea salt and drizzled with a lemon & basil vinaigrette.
Norma Buchholz
Chef
A strong mineral core with note of smoked lemon, ripe peach, and white nectarine. A very germanic expression of Riesling coming from old Mosel suitcase cuttings of Riesling.

Winemaking Notes

Comprised of riesling grapes from the Vitae Springs vineyard located in Willamette Valley. The vines were planted in 1978 in volcanic basalt-nekia and jory soil.

A wet, cool spring delayed flowering until late June, which set the stage for a later harvest than the previous three vintages. Hot, dry conditions prevailed through the summer, yielding heat spikes in August. With a larger than normal fruit set, the grapes enjoyed long hang time leading up to harvest. Conditions cooled and brought in scattered rains with the harvest, which began at Brooks on the 28th of September and ran through November 1st, almost returning to normal average harvest dates in the Willamette Valley.

The wines from the vintage show fresh fruit flavors and lively acidity. In all, it will be remembered as a classic vintage in Oregon!
