91 Points | Wine & Spirits - The Wädenswil component here confers a kind of distant fruit, raspberry and cherry flavors delivered behind earthy, tobacco-laced tannins. The texture is compact and beguiling but still a work in progress. For the cellar.

- Patrick J. Comiskey
Fresh and rich with expressive notes of red fruits, black cherry cordial, and a salty, and peppery finish.

What a perfect summer wine! Enjoy this wine with homemade corn dogs, add a little honey to the cornmeal batter along with a splash of sparkling water, enjoy as is or with your favorite condiment.

A slight departure from our traditional pinot noirs, the 2019 Wadenswil represents the first time we have bottled a wine with mixed whole cluster lots from the Muska Vineyard. The resulting wine shows savory garrigue, spice, black peppercorn and luxardo cherry dominate the nose. On the palate the wine bursts with umami, bright red cherry, ultra-fine tannins and a quenching saline finish that rounds the wine out. This is a wine that was built to age gracefully.

Winemaking Notes

A wet, but warm spring with a few mild frosts during late April and fewer than average heat spikes.
Near-record precipitation amounts during late June and early July brought increased disease pressure to the region.
The vintage will be remembered for the early rains in September and rapid cool down into October which challenged harvesting decisions.
The cool vintage came largely from substantially lower maximum temperatures while minimum temperatures were near average to slightly above average.
A classic Oregon vintage!
