2021 Little Sister Pinot Noir

An elegant and balanced Pinot Noir with well-integrated tannins and notes of cherry cordial, pomegranate syrup, and earthy bay leaf and shiitake undertones.

Inspired by the late Chef Charlie Trotter’s penchant for written notes to his family, including his own little sister Anne, Little Sister is the warm hug of a brother’s penmanship from far away as he recounts his adventures to the home front.

Brooks will donate 20% of sales of this wine to The Trotter Project.

Chef Charlie Trotter’s spirit of mentorship and giving back to the community lives on through The Trotter Project — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established on the legendary chef’s guiding principles of excellence and service to others. The Trotter Project’s mission is to create, innovate, and advance place-based culinary arts learning, farm-to-school programming, and to promote food security for children and their families.

Dave McIntyre, Washington Post
Bursting with red fruit notes with an old world elegance, refined tannins and a savory, charcuterie finish.
Jillian Barnhart
Sommelier
This Pinot Noir would be divine with roasted duck confit with a cherry demi-glace and fondant potatoes.
Josh Forkner
Culinary Director
A delicious pinot noir from a late vintage with a beautiful fall, the 2021 Little Sister effuses cherry compote, rhubarb, and fennel salami. The palate is soft and lithe, with savory herbs, juicy cranberry and wild strawberries, and a succulent saline finish.

Winemaking Notes

Rain events at the beginning of bloom diminished yields, and a dry summer was punctuated with unprecedented heat waves. The timing worked in our favor since the heat happened pre-veraison, and the vines handled it well.

Harvest started in early September, but lower temperatures across the state allowed for a long and measured harvest season, with harvest extending into mid-October.

No disease, high sugars, balanced acids, and great flavors. 2021 will undoubtedly rank as one of the top Oregon vintages.
