2021 Sunny Mountain Pinot Noir
A deliciously complex and rich Pinot Noir with excellent structure and layers of floral, dark fruit, red fruit, and earth notes.
Comprised of Pinot Noir grapes from Sunny Mountain vineyard located in the Willamette Valley. The vines were planted in 2005 in marine sedimentary-bellpine and volcanic basalt-ritner soil.
This Pinot Noir is comprised of 3 clones: 23 (Mariafeld), Pommard, and 115.
Only 200 cases produced!

94 Points | Jeb Dunnuck - Medium red with a garnet-tinged hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sunny Mountain is fresh will cinnamon spice, rose petal, pomegranate, and dusty earth. A more savory profile emerges on the finish, with a touch of umami and mushroomy earth, gripping tannins, and crunchy fruit underneath. It will do well with another couple of years in bottle and drink 2025-2032.

A stunningly complex Pinot Noir with developed and expressive notes of Fabbri Amarena cherries, red raspberry bramble, and pomegranate syrup with a long, earthy finish with notes of sandalwood and herbs de Provence.

Peppery and acidic, with notes of dry herbs; I would pair it with herb-roasted pork tenderloin with blackened peppers, onions, and salsa verde.

Winemaking Notes
2021 Vintage:
Rain events at the beginning of bloom diminished yields, and a dry summer was punctuated with unprecedented heatwaves. The timing worked in our favor since the heat happened pre-veraison, and the vines handled it well.
Harvest started in early September, but lower temperatures across the state allowed for a long and measured harvest season, with harvest extending into mid-October.
No disease, high sugars, balanced acids, and great flavors. 2021 will undoubtedly rank as one of the top Oregon vintages.
