2013 Rastaban Pinot Noir

Fresh like rain on the sidewalk, spicy cherry, orange peel, rhubarb, and black plum. Like opening up the spice cabinet and getting inspiration for dinner. I’ve spent 10 minutes on the nose and still haven’t tasted it. Mulberry, loganberry, black cherry, marionberry, huckleberry, white mushroom, black currant, violet candies, etc.
Crazy complexity. In the mouth, everything is confirmed. Lush cherry candy. violets, sage, basil, mushrooms, and wild berries wrapped up in a nest of bacon. This is such a beautiful, fat, smoky, unctuous crazy good Pinot Noir. What else can I say? I’m drinking it now.

This is your show stopper for the main course, which could easily include a seared fillet, duck and brandied cherries, venison with fruit, squab, lamb, etc. Or just drink it outside on the patio with friends.

Brooks has it all — Great story, great people, great wines.
