Dave McIntyre, Washington Post
A dry, food-ready Riesling with bright acid and notes of citrus blossom, petrol, kumquat, citrus and flinty minerality.
Jillian Barnhart
Sommelier
This wine would be amazing with corn and crawfish chowder. A nice rich creamy broth of shellfish and tender potatoes. Top it with some paprika and a touch of cayenne!

The Riesling from Hyland comes from one of the oldest vineyards that we work with and is highly influenced by the cool winds of the Van Duzer corridor that do an excellent job preserving the natural acidity in this wine. Oyster shell, quince, jasmine and smarties dominate the nose. On the palate this wine is bone dry, showing off bright lemon citrus and a thirst quenching saline finish.

Winemaking Notes

A wet, but warm spring with a few mild frosts
during late April and fewer than average
heat spikes.

Near-record precipitation amounts during late June and early July brought increased disease pressure to the region.

The vintage will be remembered for the early rains in September and rapid cool down into October which challenged harvesting decisions.

The cool vintage came largely from substantially lower maximum temperatures while minimum temperatures were near average to slightly above average.

A classic Oregon vintage!
