2023 Muska Riesling
Our love poem to Muska Vineyard. A good phenolic backbone adds structure. Flinty pineapple, lemongrass, and mango add depth, while a lush fleshy body adds a creamy texture. Muska is a delight from vintage to vintage. A firm focused wine. Undaunted within itself. Forever adored.
Flavor Notes

Brooks has it all — Great story, great people, great wines.
"Pear, persimmon, quince, orange blossom, lime leaf, honeycomb, and yellow rose petals make for an incredibly savory and intriguing nose. The palate is almost creamy, with orchard fruit, citrus, and orange zest layered over beautifully balanced acidity and sweetness that carry through a long finish. Every sip seems to show me something different and begs to have more time spent contemplating (and enjoying) it."

"Our love poem to Muska Vineyard. Flinty pineapple, lemongrass, and mango rise from a form phenolic backbone, while a lush, fleshy palate softens every edge. Some vineyards spend a lifetime searching for their voice. Muska has always known its own. A firm focused wine. Undaunted within itself. Forever adored."

"This wine is fresh and expressive, with aromas of honeysuckle, ripe yellow pear, red apple, and a delicate hint of dill. The palate unfolds with juicy orchard fruit, melon, and subtle herbal notes, creating a balanced interplay of richness and freshness. Medium-bodied with lively acidity, it finishes clean and inviting, making it an excellent companion to a wide range of seasonal dishes."

Winemaking Notes
The 2023 growing season kicked off with a late budbreak, reminiscent of 2011. Following budbreak, a sudden shift to warm, dry weather marked the season, with only one June rain event.
Ideal summer, weather prevailed until a brief hot spell in August. Harvest commenced in late August, progressing smoothly until rains in September, which delayed picking but alleviated drought stress.
Overall, the fruit quality remained excellent, with balanced acidity and moderate sugars. While rain disrupted harvest timing, some fruit still met the 100 day-to-bloom harvest rule, suggesting no significant quality differences pre- and post-rain. 2023 wines will have exceptional freshness, and flavors.
