2024 Brooks Estate Riesling

96 Points | James Suckling- Tropical notes of pineapple and guava push to the foreground, backed by orange skin and a touch of patchouli mixed with white peach. The body has a richness and slight toastiness that complements the fruit characters. High acid.

Lots of saline minerality complemented by pear eau de vie aromas and flavors. Nice spices on the palate as well. Laser-like acidity is softened by just the right amount of stone fruit. From vines planted in 1974. Drink or hold.

Dave McIntyre, Washington Post
"I always love this wine so much. We get to watch this fruit grow and getting to enjoy it in the glass brings everything full circle. Highlighted by aromatic tropical notes of pineapple, guava, papaya, and sweeter citrus notes of meyer lemon, key lime, and kumquat. A beautiful well integrated palate with more tropical and citrus characters and long-lasting persisting acid with balanced texture for a long finish."
Jen Cossey
General Manager/Sommelier
"This wine offers lively aromas of under-ripe mango, key lime, and green banana. The palate mirrors the nose with green banana, yellow apple, and mango accented by a hint of dried banana. Bright acidity and a medium body lead into a clean, medium-plus finish that keeps the wine fresh and energetic."

"When I use the word powerful to describe this wine, I mean it to the fullest degree of the term. Tropical notes of pineapple and guava push to the foreground, backed by orange skin and a touch of patchouli mixed with white peach. The body has a richness and slight toastiness that compliments the fruit characters. High acid. Wildly excited to revisit in 7+ years."

Winemaking Notes

The 2024 growing season began with an early bud break followed by warm and dry weather. Consistent sunshine throughout the summer allowed for optimal hang time.

There was a brief heatwave in July, but cool nights helped maintain acidity. Harvest commenced in early October, allowing for a smooth picking process with no pressure to rush.

Overall, fruit quality was outstanding, with balanced acidity and complex flavors. The 2024 vintage yielded vibrant wines with excellent concentration, making it a standout for year for Oregon wine.
