2024 Willamette Valley Gamay Noir

A vibrant and earthy expression of Willamette Valley Gamay Noir. Aromas of raspberries and violets mingle with hints of black peppercorns and dried chanterelle mushrooms, while the palate reveals layers of blueberries and red plum complemented by forest floor, morels, and a touch of rosemary and sarsaparilla.

Gamay Noir was the first varietal our founder, Jimi Brooks, worked with during his time in Beaujolais. It is a cousin of Pinot Noir, sharing bright acid and delicious fruit. This is the fourth vintage of this wine. Only 200 cases were produced!

Brooks has it all — Great story, great people, great wines.

Blueberries and sarsaparilla, pink pepper corn, exotic floral, red plum skin, tannin structure from fruit skin, forest floor, dried leaves, morel mushrooms, rosemary, red licorice, acid structure lingers balanced with slight fruit/skin tannins - great food wine, easy to drink and share with friends over food.

An excellent wine expressing sous bois touched with a pinch of freshness. Tannins round out nicely in a balanced way. Earthy, fresh, and approachable. A Gamay that’s ready to shake your hand and stay awhile.

Winemaking Notes

The 2024 growing season began with an early bud break followed by warm and dry weather. Consistent sunshine throughout the summer allowed for optimal hang time.

There was a brief heatwave in July, but cool nights helped maintain acidity. Harvest commenced in early October, allowing for a smooth picking process with no pressure to rush.

Overall, fruit quality was outstanding, with balanced acidity and complex flavors. The 2024 vintage yielded vibrant wines with excellent concentration, making it a standout year for Oregon wine.
