I hope this finds you all healthy and safe. It has been a busy couple of weeks in Oregon! Short but sweet! After wet, wet days and a power outage last week, it has been dry with some sunshine this week. The winter sunrises and sunsets have been beautiful!
I was able to visit with many friends this week. I made a lot of progress on converting our farmhouse to an Airbnb for Wine Club Members. We had a wonderful all-company meeting on Friday and the week was complete with a wonderful Beyond Brooks with Camas Country Mill! We learned so much about native and heirloom grains and the impact a mill can have on the resulting product. Fascinating!

When we were planning this season of Beyond Brooks and knew we were going to partner with Woodblock Chocolates, we decided to do the obvious and host it near Valentine’s Day. We have worked a lot with Charley (yes, Charley has a chocolate factory!) and Jessica and their delicious single-origin chocolates through our Virtual Tastings.
We talk about wine expressing its terroir whether it be the climate, the farming, the soils, or a combination of all. Did you know that terroir is just as important in cacao? NEAR OR FAR, WE ALL NEED TACOS
One of my missions, when I am at the winery, is to eat through Chef Norma’s monthly menu. This month is no exception, however, I arrived on a juice cleanse so I missed a few days but I have finished strong! I have had these tacos a couple of times and cannot wait to make the recipe myself for my husband. They are so delicious!
We had our annual company meeting on Friday–reviewing the past year and planning for 2022. All of our team leaders presented and did a wonderful job. Across all positions, I think we have the best team ever! We also got to go “off property” for food and libations. It was a great day and night!
I head home today and am off to move the kid’s cats to Colorado tomorrow! Never a dull moment.
